Principal’s Weekly Bulletin – 08/05/2026

Good evening Parents / Guardians,

As we begin to draw closer to the end of another school year, there is a strong sense of focus and purpose across our school community. The weeks ahead are important ones, particularly for students preparing for summer examinations and final assessments. We encourage all students to continue applying themselves fully, attending well and making the most of every learning opportunity between now and the end of term.

This time of year also brings a growing sense of anticipation for the summer months ahead – an opportunity to reflect on achievements, celebrate progress, and look forward to a well-earned break after a busy and demanding year.

We thank our students, staff, parents and guardians for their continued support and commitment throughout the year and look forward to finishing the term positively together.

Please read the other important and relevant school information below.

Have a lovely weekend,

Sarah Green

Principal

Tús Nua – Please Sign Our Petition

The Tús Nua Group has launched an online petition to collect signatures from parents / guardians to advocate for the timely delivery of our new school! Please take 1 minute to add your names to our petition – CLICK HERE. Please spread the link with family and friends and let’s really get our School Community’s voices heard! The petition will be brought to Leinster House along with all the postcards the students wrote on 26th May by the Tus Nua group and some students.

Summer Assessments:

Please click on the links below to see the timetables for the Summer Assessments and 3rd year block classes.

1st Year Summer Assessments

2nd Year Summer Assessments

3rd Year BLOCK CLASSES

5th Year LCE Summer Assessments

5th Year LCA Summer Assessments

The summer assessments are held in large exam centres to give students the experience of carrying out examinations in an exam hall.

Please encourage your son / daughter to attend regularly ahead of the exams as teachers will be revising materials and preparing students for these assessments. Be familiar with their assessment timetable and encourage them positively during the exams which can be stressful for some students.

The students will finish by 1pm each day of the exams. Students are only expected to attend school when they have an exam and can leave school before 1pm if they do not have an exam scheduled. There will be breaktime / snack facilities but there will be no lunches provided during the exam period.

Whole School Assembly – 11th May, 2pm

Our annual final Whole School Assembly will take place on Monday in the Assumption Parish. There will be a prayer service followed by a presentation of end of year awards and certificates.

The assembly will be no longer than 1 hour and students and staff are free to leave to go home from the church thereafter. These moments to gather as a whole school are rare and special. I warmly welcome any parents or guardians who wish to attend to come to Church and be present with our school community for our final assembly of the 25/26 school year.

School Culture Review

We are asking all parents/guardians to complete a short survey about our school as part of our School Culture Review. We have extended the deadline for completing the survey to Tuesday 12th May.

School culture means
-what it feels like to be in this school
-how people treat each other
-how safe and supported you feel
how easy it is to learn

We want to know what is working well and what needs to be better

This survey is anonymous. Your Responses will help us improve the school for the students.
Please access the survey HERE – the link will remain live until Tuesday 12th May.

Summer Programme 2026

A package of supports has been announced to allow all schools to offer a summer programme for children with complex special educational needs and those at greatest risk of educational disadvantage.

The central theme for this year’s programme continues to be ‘Building Confidence and Connections’. The primary aim of this theme is to help young people to realise their potential, to be resilient in dealing with the normal stresses of their lives, to take care of their physical wellbeing and to have a sense of purpose, connection and belonging to their school community.

As in previous years, St Seton’s will hold a two week Summer Programme at the end of June. Any parent / guardian and student interested in participating in the Summer Programme should email info@stsetons.ie

The Summer Programme is always a highlight of the school calendar and so valuable for those that participate in it.
