Dear Parents / Guardians,
As we reached the final day of timetables classes for many of our students before the beginning of the summer examination period, it is an important opportunity to reflect on the progress, effort and resilience shown throughout the school year.
We would like to acknowledge and thank all parents and guardians for the encouragement, support and care you continue to provide for your children during what can often be a demanding time. The partnership between home and school plays a vital role in helping students feel supported, confident and prepared.
As students now move into examinations and final assessments, we encourage them to approach the week ahead with a positive mindset, good routines and belief in their own abilities. Consistent effort, attendance, preparation and balance are all key to helping students achieve their potential.
We are proud of the commitment shown by our students throughout the year and grateful to our staff for the guidance and support they provide each day.
With summer now on the horizon, there is also a growing sense of anticipation for the brighter, warmer days and opportunities ahead. Before then, we wish all of our students every success in their examinations and thank our families for their continued support throughout the year.
“Success grows through encouragement, perseverance and the belief that every young person can achieve their potential.”
Please see some additional points of information below.
Kind regards,
Sarah Green
Principal
6th Year Graduation
Last night we celebrated our outgoing Class of 2026 in what is always a milestone event and rite of passage for the students in 6th year, their families and our staff.
A huge well done and thank you to the team of staff who worked to prepare all of the arrangements for the 6th year graduation last night. It was a wonderful evening and another first for us to hold it on the SC. We had over 450 seated in the canteen and plenty of standing room around the sides and back too. I do want to say a particular thanks to Ms O’Brien and Mr Treanor for all of their tireless work to support this year group. The atmosphere in the canteen last night was really special and it was a privilege to celebrate the success of this wonderful group of young people together with their families. The students expressed a lot of appreciation for the level of support they have received over the course of their time in St Seton’s which is always so rewarding for our team of staff to hear.

🙌 Celebrating Success:
Congratulations to Abigail Rooney who represented St Seton’s at the recent NFTE national finals. It was a huge accolade to progress this far and Abigail did a marvelous performance at the finals. We are so proud of what she achieved with the help of her committed teacher, Ms Flood. Well done!
Congratulations to the PBST Year Heads and the students who participated in the pitch and putt reward trips on Tuesday and Wednesday last week. It was great to see that a positive experience was had despite the showery weather. Thank you to Mr Blanch, Mr Bolger, Ms Higgins, Ms Howell, Mr Treanor and Ms McLoughlin for organising and bringing the students on the day along with the SNAs.
Thank you to the team who coordinated the recent TY graduation on 12th May. It was a wonderful event and a perfect send off for the TY Class of 2026 who contributed so positively to St Seton’s this year. A particular thanks to Ms Maher, Mr Harkin, Ms Howell, The tutors, SNAs and TY Core team who have been so innovative this year and Ms Tarpey and Tanya who had the PE Hall beautifully decorated.
‘Give it a Try’ – 12 students from our 1st Year Girls Rugby Team went to Barnhall RFC on the last two Wednesday evenings to take part in their training sessions as part of an initiative called ‘Give it a Try’. Thank you to Ms Murray for leading this wonderful experience for the students.
Victory for Cherry Orchard FC U17 Team – Hearty Congratulations to Cherry Orchard FC’s U17 team captained by our own Danny Murphy who won the LFA U17s cup recently in a thrilling match against St Kevin’s. Great to see Rhys Ennis named as Man of the Match and to hear him speak with such confidence after saving three penalties in the shoot out. Congratulations to Carraig Byrne and Luke Marlowe who also play on the team. Well done on your deserved victory – your school is proud of you!
Congratulations to Kaiden Finnegan in 1st year who ‘did the double’ and won the LFA U13 League and Cup playing with his team, Cherry Orchard FC.
Well done to Zara Gilligan, Kayla Murphy and Kaiden Finnegan as proud Cherry Orchard FC players who, alongside Ms Turley, attended a special visit of The Minister for Transport and Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O’Brien on Thursday. The Minister visited Elmdale to announce the awarding of a Grant to Cherry Orchard FC for the funding of Solar Panels, Batteries, EV Charging points, Bike Shelter & a Bike Repair Station. The students did not waste the opportunity to raise St Seton’s with the Minister who promised to discuss our dual campus school with the Minister for Education.
