Principal’s Weekly Bulletin – 18/09/2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It has been another very positive week in St Seton’s and I would like to thank our students for the excellent way in which they continue to engage with school life. They made a fantastic start to our Attendance Challenge and I would encourage every student to keep focused on being in school every day and making every day count. For those whose attendance may not yet be where they would like it to be, there is no better time than now to make a positive change – every day in school is an opportunity to learn, connect and make progress.

Finally, a huge congratulations to everyone involved in yesterday’s Open Day, which was a tremendous success. In particular, I want to recognise our student leaders who did such a wonderful job bringing prospective students and their families on tours of our school – they were outstanding ambassadors for St Seton’s and we can be very proud of the warmth, confidence and pride they showed in representing our school community.

Please read through the updates below for some important information.

Kind regards,
Sarah Green

Being Well – Monday 21st September

Next week’s Being Well class will focus on Bí Cinealta and we will be launching our new Student Friendly Bi Cinealta Policy. Thank you to our Bí Cineálta Student Ambassadors who lead the development of this fantastic infographic under the guidance of the Bí Cineálta Lead in St Seton’s, Ms Mollison.

The Bi Cineálta Ambassadors will be presenting to the Junior Campus classes about the role of the BC Ambassadors and how important it is that St Seton’s is a safe and pleasant place for everyone to be in.  Our new 1st Year Classes will be asked to vote on new Bi Cinealta Ambassadors for 1st year. These are wonderful leadership opportunities for students in St Seton’s.

Programmes Updates – Ms. Maher

JCSP
Thank you to all our staff members who took the time to prepare and submit JCSP initiative applications. All six initiatives were applied for. It’s fantastic to see our students benefit from initiatives like this!

TY
Our Transition Year students had a fantastic day out at the National Ploughing Championships on Tuesday. They represented the school brilliantly throughout the trip and reported back with very positive feedback. A big thank you to all the staff members who accompanied the group and made the trip possible!

The 2026/2027 TY Student Team will hold their first meeting next Thursday. This will be a great opportunity for students who have volunteered to share their voice and share ideas regarding the trips and events they would like to see throughout the coming year.

Starting next Wednesday (23rd), BYS will be running an Outdoor Adventure Group with 13 of our TY students who have signed up to participate. Participants will leave the school at 2:00 PM every Wednesday and return by 4:30 PM. Only those who are listed on the event on Compass will be permitted to leave class at 2pm.

Board of Management Meeting

The next meeting of the Board of Management is Tuesday, 22nd September at 7pm. This will be the last Ordinary Meeting of the current Board of Management. Next week I will share information with parents/guardians about the process for nominating new parent representatives to the next cycle of the Board of Management.

School Mass to Celebrate the Beginning of the New School Year

A reminder that our annual school mass to celebrate the New School Year will take place on Friday, 25th September at 11.30 in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. All parents / guardians are encouraged to attend. After the mass, we will be presenting our Senior Student Leaders and Bi Cinealta Ambassadors with their leadership pins for this school year. These occasions where our whole school community gathers under one roof are extremely special as they are particular times where we remember that we are one school, one community.
