Saturday, 17th January
Good morning Parents / Guardians,
As we come to the end of our second full week back after Christmas, school life has returned to a positive and purposeful routine. Students have settled well into classes, and it has been encouraging to see strong engagement with learning across all year groups.
This week, we continued to emphasise attendance, organisation, and wellbeing as key foundations for success during the term ahead. We also thank parents and guardians for their ongoing support in ensuring students are punctual, prepared, and ready to learn each day.
We look forward to another productive week ahead. Next week is Catholic Schools Week and we will be continuing our work together to support the academic progress and social and emotional wellbeing of all students.
Please see the usual mix of important information for parents and guardians details below.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and looking forward to seeing our students back in school on Monday morning!
Warm regards,
Sarah Green
Principal
Anseo Attendance Challenge – 19th January – 11th February 2026
From 19th January to 11th February, our school will be taking part in our next Anseo Attendance Challenge. This initiative encourages students to attend school every day and recognises the positive impact that regular attendance has on learning, wellbeing and friendships. Please see the image below for more information!

We ask parents and guardians to support this challenge by ensuring students attend school daily, arrive on time, and only miss school when absolutely necessary. Every day in school matters, and small improvements in attendance can make a big difference to students’ confidence, progress, and success. Together, we can help our students build strong attendance habits that will benefit them both now and in the future.
Compass – Our School’s Management System
We are committed to ensuring all parents / guardians are supported to use our School’s Compass App to record any student absences. If your child is absent from school, please ensure that a reason is given for their absences for each day of any absence.
If you are experiencing any difficulty, please make contact with the school by phone or by emailing info@stsetons.ie / juniorcampus@stsetons.ie / seniorcampus@stsetons.ie .
We have prepared a series of short videos to assist parents / guardians with utilising Compass. These videos can be accessed here: Compass Videos for Parents/Guardians and will assist you with getting familiar with Compass.
If for any reason your child is absent, please be sure to fill in the reason for their absence each day on Compass. If you cannot manage to record the reason for the absence on Compass, please make contact with the school to explain their absence on the day the student returns to school. This will ensure all of the information is up to date on their attendance record. As a school, we are trying really hard to ensure our attendance records are accurate so your cooperation here is really appreciated.
Pre-Junior Certificate & Leaving Certificate Exams
The ‘Mock’ exam timetables for all 3rd and 6th year students are available to view below. These exams are important for preparing for the State Exams in June and we encourage all parents / guardians to talk to your 3rd and 6th years sons and daughters about these upcoming exams. Perhaps you can support them to prepare a study timetable or reassure them if they are stressed. Positive conversations in relation to exam stress really support young people during these challenging times that are a normal part of school life. Most of the time, the students feel a sense of achievement having completed the mock exams.

Celebrating School Community Success
- Congratulations to our U19 Soccer team and Mr Whelan who have their Semi Final match on Wednesday after their great win this week. They are playing Presentation Terenure on Wednesday and we hope to get some supporters out to cheer them on.
- Hard luck to our U15s Soccer Team who lost their match this week in extra time on penalties. Well done to the boys on a great performance and their coach, Mr Eustance, for developing the team this year.
- Congratulations to Jake Byrne in 2nd year who has been selected for the 2nd round of Leinster Rugby trials. Jake plays with Coolmine RFC and we are really proud of his achievement.
- Well done to the TY students who went out on Day 2 of the STEM Initiative with Eilish Griffin. It was great to hear that the students engaged really well and enjoyed the day.
