Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,
As we move further into March, our school community is also looking ahead to the celebrations associated with St. Patrick’s Day. This national celebration is a time to reflect on the life and legacy of Saint Patrick and the rich culture, language and traditions that form such an important part of our shared heritage.
In school we will take opportunities during the week to acknowledge these traditions and to encourage students to engage with Irish culture in a positive and inclusive way. We are delighted to welcome storyteller Níall de Búrca to the Junior Campus on Thursday for an engaging and entertaining session with 1st – 3rd Years.
I am sure you are all looking forward to the long weekend ahead, with Monday 16th March being a school-free day followed by St Patrick’s Day on Tuesday. We hope that this extended break provides a welcome opportunity for rest, family time and participation in local community celebrations.
At this time of year we are often reminded of the well-known prayer St Patrick’s Breastplate, which speaks about strength, protection and guidance in our daily lives. Its message about courage, kindness, and faith in the journey ahead remains meaningful today. We wish all of our families a safe, enjoyable, and restful St. Patrick’s weekend.
Warm regards,
Sarah Green
Principal
Tús Nua Update
Members of the Tús Nua group met with the Minister for Education on Monday. While we are still dissatisfied with the timelines being offered, the meeting was positive in that more resources and funding for developments have been committed to. A full report of the meeting can be viewed here.
This week, the entire staff team sent separate emails to our local representatives during our staff meeting completely filling their inboxes with requests for support and advocacy for St Seton’s. This is a powerful message but we know that it is the voice of parents that has the most impact. If you have not yet sent a letter to the local representatives, please do so this weekend. If you need assistance please call the reception and we will give assistance.
To make the process as easy as possible, please find the text of a template letter that you can copy and paste into an email HERE and just add your name to the bottom, replacing the red writing.

Wellbeing Week: 23rd – 27th March
We are looking forward to celebrating Wellbeing Week 2026 from 23rd – 27th March with lots of events to support student and staff wellbeing in the pipeline.
Each year during Wellbeing Week, we finish classes early at lunchtime on Thursday so the staff can have a dedicated Wellbeing afternoon, facilitated by the Board of Management. We know that the operation of St Seton’s split across two campuses with inadequate facilities makes working in St Seton’s challenging. This wellbeing afternoon is a token of appreciation for our dedicated and committed staff team. As a result, classes will finish at 12.55pm on Thursday 26th April.
🙌 Celebrating Success:
We had a very successful Seachtain Na Gaeilge in St Seton’s this week. It was such a pity that the weather got in the way of the Siúlóid Glas on Thursday. Thank you to the Gaeilge Department and all the staff who supported the activities this week. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh go léir
