A meeting for parents and guardians from St Dominic’s College, St John’s College and Caritas College took place on Wednesday 21st September at 7pm in St John’s College. 6 parents / guardians attended. Sarah Green (Principal, St Seton’s) and Sr Liz Smyth OP (Principal, St Dominic’s) were also in attendance with apologies from Tara Brady (Principal, Caritas College and Deirdre Murphy (Principal, St John’s College).
A number of discussions took place about:
The arrangements for opening St Seton’s at the beginning of the next school year.
Refurbishment works that need to be completed on the two campuses prior to opening.
The importance of good communication going forward. Social media was considered to be a platform that is easier for more parents/guardians to access.
The importance of parental / guardian involvement.
It was agreed that another meeting will take place on Wednesday 5th October from 7-8pm in St John’s College. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect a parents’/guardians’ council with a minimum of two parent/guardian representatives from each school. During the evening, a tour of the school buildings at St John’s College will also be given.
